Developing dynamic disciples has always been a cornerstone of the ministry at First Baptist Church of Glenarden. Jesus commissioned His church to engage in the work of duplicating believers, and this remains our steadfast mission as a church body. Anchored by Matthew 28:19-20, we strive to create churchwide engagement through discipleship communities.

BE A DISCIPLE
Being a disciple doesn't imply perfection; rather, it begins with a heartfelt desire to grow and become more like Jesus in our daily lives.
There are THREE pathways to discipleship at FBCG:
Formal Discipleship Programs: Structured initiatives that utilize specific curricula, often tailored to particular demographic groups, to guide participants in their spiritual growth. Learn more about our discipleship programs.
Ministry Community: There are 100+ opportunities to serve, receive instruction & support, or pursue an interest while growing with others. Search our ministry finder.
Organic Community: Outside of FBCG, discipleship opportunities exist among personal groups of friends, family, and/or associates.
MAKE A DISCIPLE
Making disciples doesn’t have to be difficult. It’s easy! It’s all about forming relationships and doing life together. Pray and ask God to show you who you are to disciple.
Ideas on ways to make a disciple include the following:
Invite someone to worship with you and then use the Discipleship Moment to engage in conversation in the upcoming week.
Schedule regular meet-ups using a Devotional or Bible Plan.
Identify opportunities to 'do life' with those on your F.R.A.N.C.E.S (Friends, Relatives, Acquaintances, Neighbors, Co-workers, Enemies, Strangers) list.
In your discipleship encounters, remember to use the B.L.E.S.S model as your guide in getting started!
