COVID-19 VACCINATION CLINIC

On March 16, 2021, we launched our COVID-19 Vaccination clinic in partnership with University of Maryland Capital Region Health. The clinic, located at the Family Life Center, will serve the residents of Prince George’s County.

Vaccination Information

The State of Maryland is currently administering COVID-19 vaccinations to five priority groups based on their risk of exposure and/or risk of developing serious illness.  Please visit umms.org/GetTheVaccine to determine eligibility and register for your vaccination.

Q. Who is FBCG working with for this effort?

Q. Do I need to be a resident of Prince George’s County to receive a vaccination?
A. Yes, this vaccination clinic is only open to residents of Prince George’s County.

Q. Do I need to be an FBCG member to receive the vaccination?
A. No, you do not need to be an FBCG member to receive the vaccination at this location. This location is open to anyone who lives in Prince George’s County and meets the qualifications based on the current state of Maryland guidelines.

Q. If I’m an FBCG member, do I automatically qualify to receive the vaccine at the church?
A. No, being an FBCG member does not automatically qualify you to receive the vaccine at this location. The location is available for everyone who qualifies for the vaccine based on the current state of Maryland guidelines and who completes the registration process.

Q. What days and times will the clinic be open?
A. Currently, the clinic is scheduled to run on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning March 16 – June 30, from 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Dates and times are subject to change as we seek to accommodate more members of our community.

Q. Where is the clinic located?
A. The clinic is located at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden Family Life Center – 600-J Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774.

Q. Is this a drive-thru clinic?
A. No, this is not a drive-thru clinic. You will need to come inside of the FBCG Family Life Center. The FBCG Family Life Center is located at 600-J Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774.

Q. Which vaccine will be administered at the clinic?
A. The type of vaccine administered is determined by UM Capital Region Health.

Q. How do I know if I qualify to receive the vaccine?
A. University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) and its affiliated hospitals are distributing the COVID vaccines in phases outlined by the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine (NASEM) and the State of Maryland.

Q. What information do I need to bring with me?
A. You will receive a confirmation email including information on how to prepare for your appointment. Largely coming with a driver’s license will be sufficient. For more information on how to prepare for your appointment, please visit the UM Capital Region Health website.

Q. Is there a cost to receive the vaccine?
A. No, there is no cost to receive the vaccine.

Q. Do I need to have health insurance to receive the vaccine?
A. No, you do not need to have health insurance to receive the vaccine.

Q. Who will administer the vaccine?
A. The vaccine will be administered by licensed medical professionals.

Q. Is there a number I can call to schedule an appointment rather than going online?
A. The State has launched a COVID-19 Vaccination Support Center where Marylanders can get help scheduling vaccination appointments. Individuals can also get information on COVID-19 vaccines and help with finding vaccination providers closest to their homes. The number is 1-855-MDGOVAX (1-855-634-6829). It operates seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Q. Who do I contact to reschedule or cancel my vaccine appointment?
A. At this time, UM Capital Region Health is unable to cancel appointments. If you have already been vaccinated or cannot make it to your appointment, you do not need to call or email to cancel. Please do not contact FBCG about your vaccination appointment.
