Do you speak Spanish or any other language? Here at First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCG) we welcome people who speak multiple languages including English. We want every visitor and member of FBCG to have the ability to understand and apply the Word of God, even if English if is not their native language. Interpretation is currently available in Spanish for all Sunday services and on Zoom for the Communion Service and Bible Study on Tuesday nights and special events.

Every individual is welcomed at FBCG, including those with special needs and atypical development. We use multi-sensory classrooms and/or inclusive buddies in Sunday School classes and other FBCG teaching environments to ensure everyone can learn about God’s love. Parents and caregivers are also encouraged to participate in monthly support group trainings and community involvement.

Organized intramural sports such as AAU basketball, co-ed softball and bowling promote physical fitness while fostering sportsmanship in a godly atmosphere.

Squads focuses on us building on the FBCG “doing life together” initiative by building small groups within the Young Adult Ministry.

Star aims to disciple and inspire teen girls to live God-led lives through practical biblical teaching, interactive small groups, and outreach opportunities.

This choir are the voices of children, ages 5-11, who are taught and demonstrate singing praises to God through song. Their voices can also be a vessels to prepare the atmosphere for the presence of God.

Adult Bible Study provides community, discipleship, and spiritual growth through Christ-centered, curriculum-based Bible teaching for adults. The mission of Adult Bible Study is to transform lives through the study and application of God’s Word both in daily life and through outreach opportunities.

Tamar is a God-centered ministry that promotes spiritual healing for overcomers of sexual abuse. The ministry provides a peaceful environment where women can gain trust with one another and learn to be open about their past experiences.

The Transportation Ministry provides safe and on time transportation services to our congregation and the community to and from FBCG worship services, Bible studies, outreaches, special events and Pastoral engagements, while fostering accountability to do what we know and believe.

This ministry offers a safe, healthy environment to help individuals overcome life-controlling problems, such as substance abuse, anger, addictions, etc., in a small group setting. Turning Point also has separate classes for adults and youths ages 13-17.

The Tutoring Ministry helps students in Kindergarten through 12th Grade develop their God given academic and spiritual gifts to the fullest. Join with us as we strive to make a difference in the lives of our young people.

Unashamed, also called “The U,” is designed to transform youth into unashamed followers of Jesus Christ, which empowers them to impact the world. The unashamed experience is for 6th – 12th grade students and includes live music, games, food, drama, dance, creative messages and Christ-centered mentoring through life-changing Connect Groups.

The Unashamed Praise team is composed of youth 12-17 who audition to be part of this ministry. This team supports Remix Sunday services and other youth events, including the U-Experience, demonstrating youthful praise and worship from contemporary gospel worship music.

Unashamed Youth Bible Study (UYBS) continues the tradition of developing young dynamic disciples by providing biblical principles to middle and high school students through exciting Christ-centered bible studies and activities.

The United Voices choir is comprised of members who sings contemporary and tranditional songs using their voices as a dynamic vessel singing praises to usher in the spirit preparing the atmosphere for the presence of God.

The Wise Builder Ministry uses the teachings of the design and construction industry, particularly as it relates to building and growing God’s kingdom. With a highly engaged construction program, it is our goal to provide opportunities for mission service in the trades and professional sectors.

The Wives Support Ministry provides a forum in which married women can become more knowledgeable of the Word of God as it relates to marriage and the home. Using 1 Peter 3:1-6 as our foundational scripture, wives who are seeking to fulfill God’s mandate for women will receive instructions from facilitators and participate in a discussion of practical information to be implemented in all areas of the marital relationship.

If you are a busy woman, then Focus Studies will work for you. Each short-term study (on average, four-to-seven weeks) offers biblically sound studies to meet the needs of women in every season of their lives.
