Our Kingdom Kids Camp will be a summer experience for children 5 to 15 years of age. This summer camp experience will keep your children engaged with God and Jesus Christ at the center. Each day will feature fun activities and lessons designed to encourage your child’s spiritual growth, individual responsibility, kindness and respect for others, as well as physical health and fitness.

We offer a variety of summer camp experiences for kids to choose from. From creative arts and aviation to more traditional camp options such as sports, cheerleading and more! Our Summer Camp is the best way to keep your children engaged in God’s love all summer long.

General Requirements

Each camp has specific age requirements. Please review the description page for the individual camp(s) of interest to your child.

Sneakers are highly recommended for safety reasons. Due to the nature of camp activities that may involve running and other physical activities, open-toed shoes/sandals are discouraged. If your child brings a backpack, please ensure your child’s name is on all personal belongings. For more information, please check the camp descriptions.

Our Summer Camp program helps children make friends and have fun while learning new skills during the summer months. Our experienced staff helps campers make new friends and grow in their self-confidence. Each week begins with camper interaction-building activities that encourage interaction among all kids.

Yes! Opportunities to meet the camp staff will be outlined in your Campminder Parent Portal. 

Yes, you are welcome to enroll your child in more than one camp.

Vacation Bible School is our only camp with a virtual option.

Campers up to the age of 15 years of age can enroll in Summer Camp.

Hours of Operation

Yes! Before and aftercare is available.

Before-care is also available from 7 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. and after-care is available from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Please refer to CampMinder Application Portal for more information.

Program

Lunch will be provided. You are welcome to bring your campers lunch if you choose.

All summer camps take place between the Worship Center and our Family Life Center.

Health and Wellness

To ensure the safety and health of your camper, we recommend that your camper bring their own lunch. Most of the lunches will be catered for and we are unable to monitor allergy restrictions.

Your child’s health is of the utmost importance to us. A completed signed Medication Authorization Form MUST be submitted for each medication BEFORE your child attends their first day of camp. Please complete all forms in your Campminder Parent Portal. 

Logistics

Summer Camp is an exciting experience at the First Baptist Church of Glenarden. Children will be offered a wide variety of activities to choose from and they’re sure to find one that is a perfect match for them. This year, families can choose from camps held at the Worship Center or the Family Life Center. There will be offsite adventures as well such as Aviation Camp, Legal Eagles!

In the event of inclement weather or high temperatures, our staff will provide ground transportation between the Worship Center and Family Life Center.

Please review the list of camp descriptions to determine where your camper should be dropped off and picked up. If your child needs before or aftercare, please pick them up and drop them off the Worship Center. 

Feel free to park in any of our lots. All our campuses have plenty of space for you to park, and we encourage you to park in an area that is not a reserved parking space.

Please be aware that we do not allow campers to be picked up early without permission from a parent. If you need to pick up your child early, please inform our camp staff through tour Campminder Parent Portal. Please also designate who will be picking up your child if it is anyone other than you.

If you need to drop your child off late, please inform our camp staff through your Campminder Parent Portal. The safety and well-being of our campers is an utmost priority.

When you enroll your camper in one of our camps, please note that the start and end times depend on the type of camp. Please review the list of camps to become familiar of their start and end times.

Payment

Yes, our Vacation Bible School is free.

Payment is due upon registration and on a first-come, first-served basis.

An initial deposit is due at the time of registration and the remaining balance is due on June 1, 2024. All outstanding balances can be viewed in your Campminder parent portal.

We offer discount pricing to those who enroll in multiple camps.

AVIATION CAMP

(July 8-12, 2024)

Aviation Career Education (ACE) Camp is a fun-filled summer camp for youth who have an interest in aviation and exposes them to the many careers available in aviation/aerospace. Throughout the course of the ACE Camp, attendees will experience various trips and visits to many places such as the Patuxent Naval Air Museum, the Baltimore Washington Tower, the Naval Test Pilot School Tour, and more! Each attendee will also get to fly a flight simulator and conduct an orientation flight in a real airplane!

These trips depart promptly at 8 a.m. so please ensure camp attendees arrive on-time!

CHEER CAMP

(June 24-28 & July 22-26, 2024)

Cheerleading Camp is a summer camp for the youth and young adults who have an interest in cheerleading. This camp provides an opportunity for participants to learn cheerleading techniques, dance skills and improve their overall performance ability.

Campers will also gain valuable leadership training that can be used both on and off the sidelines. This experience helps each camper take her skills to the next level while experiencing the love of Jesus Christ!

KIDS WORLD

Come and join us at the Kids’ World Summer Camp! Our dedicated team will lead a week full of age appropriate and fun-filled workshops and activities. LEGAL EAGLES

(July 8-12, 2024)

 

The Legal Eagle Summer Camp 2024, themed “Agents of Change: Youth and the Law”, is an immersive, week-long journey for middle and high school students interested in the law and social activism. The camp emphasizes how young people can use legal frameworks to drive societal change and builds the foundation for the next generation of legal eagles. It provides a hands-on approach to learning, with a combination of guest speakers, interactive workshops, and field trips in the Washington DC/MD/VA area.

SPORTS EXPERIENCE

(June 17-Aug. 2, 2024)

Sports Xperience is an unparalleled selection of quality sports camps for children and youth. Our multi-sport summer camp, with over 9 single-sport camp options and an entire range of programming for all ages from soccer to martial arts, volleyball, track and field! This Xtreme Sports Camp will allow participants to try a variety of sports within the program rather than specializing in a single sport. You do not want to miss this exciting Xperience!

*Those enrolled in the Sports Xperience will attend FBCG Vacation Bible School (VBS) the week of July 29 – Aug. 2 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Registration for VBS is required during this week. Transportation will be provided to and from VBS. Drop-off and pick-up will be at the FBCG Family Life Center.

Vacation Bible School will provide the children and youth with a theme from the Bible, give life application tools, and a fun experience to carry them through life.

WISE BUILDERS

The youth will be exposed to a wonderful opportunity with an emphasis on construction and design. They will learn about opportunities for mission service in the trades and professional sectors. Through hands-on building experiences, participants will learn how to be wise builders of God’s Kingdom as they grow in knowledge, skills and character.
