Thank you for your interest!

We are thrilled to have received an overwhelming participation response to First Baptist Church of Glenarden’s 28th Annual Health and Wellness Expo. Due to an unexpectedly high volume of submissions, we are no longer accepting any further businesses, screeners or food trucks for this event.

We sincerely apologize and hope you’ll plan to join us next year! Register early to reserve your 2024 exhibitor spot by clicking the link below:

Thank you again for your commitment to promoting health and wellness within our community. We look forward to working with you next year!

First Baptist Church of Glenarden, a 501(c)3 organization, will host its 28th Annual Health and Wellness Expo on Saturday, June 3, 2023, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. This event will be held at our Worship Center, located at 600 Watkins Park Drive, Upper Marlboro, MD. We invite you to partner with us in this year’s Expo as a Food Vendor, Educational Exhibitor, or Health Screener (VES).

Our target audience is the entire family – seniors, women, men, children and teens. The Expo is comprised of free health screenings, exhibits, workshops, fitness sessions, and educational opportunities presented by local health professionals.

We are soliciting your partnership in the form of participation as a food vendor, educational exhibitor, and/or healthcare screener. We request that the health screening services be provided at no cost/free to attendees. Our goal is to present specific opportunities for your entity to support our event and the community at large. If you have any questions in the interim, please direct them to healthexpo@fbcglenarden.org and we would be happy to assist you.

Please note, registration is not final approval to participate. Once your registration is reviewed you will be contacted with additional information

Health Screeners

  • In Maryland, Health Awareness Testing means a test approved by the Secretary to be performed at a temporary laboratory, such as a health fair in a shopping mall.
  • Laboratories that move from location to location (such as mobile units that provide health screenings or other tests at temporary sites) may be covered under the CLIA certificate of the designated primary site or home base using its address.
  • A health awareness test is limited to tests that are performed solely for the purposes of screening for certain medical conditions and are not to be used for diagnostic or management of healthcare conditions; are performed on a CLIA-waived testing device; and measure glucose, lipids, or other clinical values which the Secretary has concluded are in the interest of public health to be measured at a health awareness event.
  • If you plan to perform Health Awareness Testing in Maryland, please review the regulations set forth in COMAR 10.10.06.12, 10.10.06.13 and 10.10.06.15. The Office of Health Care Quality must receive requests 14 days prior to a testing event, per COMAR 10.10.06.14. For questions regarding Health Awareness Testing, the contact person may be reached by email at gail.mcgucken@maryland.gov or by telephone at 667-210-4524. COMAR regulation can be searched here: https://dsd.maryland.gov/Pages/COMARHome.aspx
  • Health Screeners will be provided with 6’ x 30″ tables and chairs as requested. We encourage bringing no more than 4 staff members due to spacing limitations. Please feel free to bring your own promotional tablecloths.
  • Health Screeners are responsible for providing services for a minimum of 200 attendees and handling any necessary follow-up directly with the attendee. Screeners are responsible for bringing all necessary supplies and disposing of all medical waste as applicable.
  • Please advise if an electrical outlet is needed. You are required to bring your own surge protectors and extension cords; they will not be provided at the event.
  • NOTE: Please have any bulk donation items shipped to the address below to arrive no later than Tuesday, May 30, 2023. Please inform us of the number of boxes shipped and a tracking number to confirm receipt.

Food Vendors

  • Food Vendors will be placed outside on the parking lot and will be required to meet the Prince George’s County Department of Health guidelines for event food sales.

  • All food vendors must have a Temporary Food Service Facility Permit and must submit a copy of that permit no later than Friday, May 26, 2023. Vendors should also bring a hard copy to the event for inspection by the Health Department. Please visit the Health Department website for more details of the permit. There is a helpful Temporary and Special Food Service Checklist that shows requirements for day-of-the-event compliance. Please note that obtaining the permit can take up to 60 days, so begin the application process immediately if you have not done so already.

  • Food vendors must provide their own equipment, including generators with fuel. Two tables and four chairs will be provided for use as needed, i.e. condiments, set-up, etc.

  • Vendors are required to bring their own surge protectors and extension cords; none will be provided. Please note that your location may require an outdoor extension cord that is at least 50 feet in length.
  • Vendors are required to bring their own tents and any items needed to secure them (sandbags, weights, cords, etc.).

  • Vendors are responsible for providing any internet access required to process electronic transactions; cash/change is not readily available at FBCG Worship Center and no ATMs are on-site.

  • Food trucks are welcome provided they meet the Prince George’s County Department of Health guidelines for event food sales and pass inspection that day prior to food sales.

Exhibitors

  • Due to spacing restrictions, the number of representatives participating on-site the day of the event is limited to two people for a single booth and four for a double booth.
  • Table(s) and chairs for each booth will be provided. Exhibitors are not permitted to bring additional tables or chairs.
  • Please advise if an electrical outlet is needed. You must bring your own surge protectors and extension cords; they will not be provided at the event.
  • Booths do not include pipe and drape. There will be a table tent with your organization’s name and a black tablecloth. Any display/signage/promotional materials are subject to the approval of FBCG and may be reviewed prior to the expo.
