This Simple, Inexpensive Workout Has Major Health Benefits

Did you know that walking is the most accessible, inexpensive and manageable means of exercise? Did you also know that it has numerous benefits?

Walking provides for better management of diseases such as hypertension, heart disease, respiratory ailments and diabetes.  It is also a relatively easy way to burn calories and manage weight. Additionally, walking has been documented to improve your thought process and memory.

Now that you know the benefits, let’s walk! Create a schedule and walk at your own pace and distance, using your initial pace as a barometer to gradually increase your pace, distance and stamina. Remember to dress appropriately, wear good walking shoes, hydrate well and be aware of your environment. Also, it is never inappropriate to consult your physician prior to initiating your walk program.
