REGISTER TO ATTEND NIGHT TO SHINE
On Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, the Special Needs Ministry of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden will host Night to Shine, sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation. Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older.
Night to Shine is held simultaneously around the world on the Friday before Valentine’s Day each year. This is not just an event, but an invitation into a community that values, honors and supports people with special needs and their families.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, Night to Shine 2022 will be a virtual experience. This unique virtual event will be complete with all of the treasured prom elements, as every guest will get to enjoy music, dancing, prom favors and messages from special guests. The evening will also include crowning each guest as king or queen of the prom.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Night to Shine requires a team of volunteers. If you’re interested in volunteering to serve during Night to Shine 2022, please review the volunteer descriptions and click the “Volunteer” button to sign up.
Volunteer Duties
- Encouraging Notes – Write encouraging note cards or verses to share with honored guests. Remember to use people-first language.
- Delivery – Help deliver Night to Shine Guest Experience Gift Kits to honored guests with contact-free delivery, using the buddy system or assist with mailing them out.
*Note: Volunteers and staff should not go to guest homes alone. Proper safety protocols and social distancing measures must be followed. Masks and gloves must be worn at ALL times. Deliveries MUST be completely contact-less.
- Prayer – Join the prayer team to pray over needs shared by honored guests, parents and caregivers. Consider offering prayer and encouragement by phone.
- Tech Support – Assist with minimal troubleshooting for technology concerns on the night of the Night to Shine Virtual Experience. This team will help with basic concerns such as difficulty finding or accessing the virtual event, connecting to WiFi, etc.
