The Bible is filled with truths on dealing with anger, unforgiveness, grief, addictions, relational, spiritual and mental health issues. If you find yourself challenged in one of these areas, First Baptist Church of Glenarden offers a number of ministries to help make you complete and whole as the Lord intended.

Grief

HEALING TRANSITIONS AND BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY

This ministry gives hope to those suffering from serious or terminal illness, or grieving the loss of a loved one. Members are trained in the areas of prayer, healing and grief support.

Encouragement Coaching

LIFE BUILDERS MINISTRY

The Life Builders Ministry offers spiritual, emotional and personal encouragement to individuals by helping them apply biblical principles to their everyday life situations. This occurs during one-on-one sessions with trained encouragement coaches. In addition, "Saturday Night Live" (SNL), a proactive event held several times throughout the year, allows a person to process God's Word in their life in a group setting.

Marriage 

For marital counseling, please call the church at 301-773-3600 to schedule an appointment with our Couples Ministry director and assistant director, Ministers Skip & Beverly Little. Please note that due to the church size, this service is only available to First Baptist Church of Glenarden members.

Sexual Addiction – SAMSON’S DILEMMA
Men learn how to put proper boundaries in place in order to free them from sexual temptation. Through this small-group study, Samson’s Dilemma teaches men how to be victorious against Satan.

Life-controlling Problems

TURNING POINT

This ministry offers a safe, healthy environment to help individuals overcome life-controlling problems, such as substance abuse, anger, addictions, etc., in a small group setting. Turning Point also has separate classes for adults and youths ages 13-17.

Sexual Abuse

TAMAR MINISTRY

If you’ve been sexually abused, Tamar provides spiritual healing through a peaceful environment. Women learn to trust one another and to be open about their past experiences.

SPIRITUAL CARES

Throughout our lifetimes, we all go through highs and lows in the cycle of life. Our Spiritual Cares team is trained to provide biblical counseling in the areas of marital and family relations, parenting, grief, anger and unforgiveness, as well as spiritual discouragement.

If you are experiencing challenges and need to speak with someone, please call the church at 301-773-3600 to schedule an appointment with a member of our Spiritual Cares team. Please note that due to the church size, this service is only available to First Baptist Church of Glenarden members in good standing who are active in a ministry, regularly attend Bible study, participate in The Institutes and tithe.
